ASSESSMENT

Counseling for New Life offers individualized treatment based, specifically, on the needs of each client. One of the most important parts of our treatment services is the comprehensive assessment that we will make in determining your therapy needs. Often, we will struggle with the effects of something that is actually the result of a deeper issue. Early clinical intervention can speed the recovery process and improve relationships. We will work with you, whether an individual or a couple, to determine exactly what problems you are having in your relationship. Specializing in sex addiction, co-sex addiction, love addiction, codependency, and relationship issues; we are uniquely qualified to offer you the most effective treatment options available.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

 
Individual counseling takes place in private, safe, one-on-one sessions. These sessions are 45-50 minutes long and focus on the presenting problems based on the completed assessment. Usually one session is scheduled a week. However, depending on the time availability of the individual, the financial ability, and how fast they would like to pursue their recovery, some clients schedule more than one session per week. 

PARTNER / SPOUSE COUNSELING - Marriage Counseling Services

We can help you deal with the trauma that you have experienced due to your partner’s acting out. We will help you define, develop and maintain healthy boundaries, empowering you within the relationship, create safety, and self-care. We can help you rebuild trust, develop intimacy, and learn how to move forward. 

COUPLES COUNSELING

 
Counseling for New Life offers a number of couples therapies including pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, and counseling for the many dynamics that take place within a sex addiction, love addiction, or codependent relationship. A new relationship can be created that will be fulfilling and healthy for both partners. We draw heavily on the work of Pia Mellody, an expert on love addiction and co-dependency, as well as Terry Real, an author and expert on relationship (relational therapy). 

The PREPARE/ENRICH program is used for premarital preparation and marriage enrichment. PREPARE/ENRICH includes a comprehensive couple assessment along with feedback using skills building exercises. 

Most couples sessions are a “double session” of approximately 90 minutes long, since couples issues are often multifaceted. 

GROUP COUNSELING

 

An individual may benefit from meeting, in a monitored, safe, environment that allows them to interact with other persons dealing with similar problems. Group therapy, specifically designed for sex addicts and/or spouse/partner of sex addicts, is recommended for those clients who have established a good foundation for their recovery in individual therapy. The benefit of group counseling will be decided between the therapist and client.

INTENSIVES AND WORKSHOPS

 
An individual or couple has the option of scheduling half day intensives, where we block out three to four hours with the intention of accelerating the therapy process or for addressing a crisis situation.

 

Some clients live in an area where there is not a Christian counselor that is also a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist. Others, who are high profile clients, or for other reasons, seek a therapist outside their local area. For these clients we offer regular phone sessions. Other special arrangements can also be made.

 

Counseling for New life has held one day to three day workshops and seminars that incorporate experiential learning. We work closely with churches, public and private organizations, and corporations. Speaking engagements can be also arranged with Young Lee on following topics:

These structured events are facilitated by Young S. Lee and may last from a few hours to weekend retreats. 

REFERRAL

Sometimes there is a need for a more concentrated treatment than we can offer in-house.That may involve a week or more of intensive outpatient treatment or even several weeks of inpatient treatment.We will be glad to discuss these options with you and make appropriate referrals for you should the need exist.
